Agency Description:
The Salvation Army offers a variety of social service programs that include food baskets, clothing vouchers, utility help programs for gas and electric, fuel assistance programs for oil, coal and wood. Other forms of assistance may be provided on a case by case basis. They also offer worship services on Sunday and youth and adult four-fold programs during the week.

FOOD BASKET PROGRAM
The Salvation Army will make food baskets for families or individuals and provide them with enough food until they get income or food stamps. They are open five days a week. However, appointments are preferred and identification is required.

FUEL PROGRAM
The Salvation Army provides fuel assistance to those who do not qualify for state and county assistance or who have already used up their grants and cannot purchase their own fuel. They only provide this assistance once a year. Sometimes the client is required to pay a part of the bill, In rare intances, they can also provide funds to pay for furnace repairs.

UTILITY PROGRAM
The Salvation Army offers a program to help utility bills at PP&L and PG Energy. Both are based on payment history and other help received. Clients must be in threat of termination to receive assistance. This service is only provided once a year and can be refused if the client has received assistance for two consecutive years.

YOUTH AND ADULT COMMUNITY PROGRAM
The center offers youth programs for boys and girsl to age sixteen. They also offer an adult program for men and women 16+. Contact the center for details.
